The
Moreschi shoe company was begun in 1946 and has always focused its activity
on craftsmanship of a high-quality product. Over the years
it has witnessed a steady growth, and today Moreschi
employs about 300 people, with a daily production of almost
1,000 pairs of shoes.
 All
processes at Moreschi, from design to cutting and sewing of
leather components to packaging and shipping, take place within
the Moreschi company. Each single pair is subject to a high
number of operations, carried out by expert shoemakers both
by hand and with the use of modern machinery.
The
Italian distribution network of Moreschi shoes is made up of
the most exclusive shoe retailers, including the Avventura.
Moreschi Design Department
Moreschi shoes are projected and designed
within the company. A refined CAD software for the design phase
is the only computerized element in the production process.
Moreschi Leather Warehouses
The well-stocked
leather warehouses of Moreschi are the basis of the company's
activity. In one warehouse the sole leather is stored in a quantity
which meets six months' production; keeping the leather in stock
for a long time also favours the seasoning process, thanks to
which leather improves and enhances wearability of Moreschi shoes.
 The
leather warehouse is the key-element of the Moreschi shoe factory,
where many kinds of leathers and skins for the uppers are stored.
A steady demand of many different models in various markets
requires the immediate availability of the materials needed
to meet all kinds of requests. The top-quality skins stored
in the warehouse cover up to one year's production of Moreschi
shoes.
Moreschi Cutting department
Moreschi footwear leather is cut by expert workers. Metal dies
are used in about 80% of cutting operations; however, some
particular models are still hand-cut.
One third of the leather used does not comply with the high quality
standards of Moreschi and is therefore discarded. One pair of
uppers is made up of a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 24 pieces
of leather, cut according to precise colour, quality and dimension
criteria. All pieces are subsequently levelled and skived.
Moreschi Sewing department
Sewing is the most complex operation in the production of Moreschi
shoes. About 50% of the process in a shoe factory is employed
in the sewing department. These operations require professional
qualification and experience. Several years of apprenticeship
at Moreschi is needed to achieve a high degree of proficiency.
This is achieved through training courses within the Moreschi
company.

Moreschi Hand-sewing
The production of Moreschi moccasins still requires the hand-lasting
of uppers and the hand-sewing of aprons by highly specialized
workers, according to the same procedures of 50 years ago.
Moreschi Lasting and application of soles
Lasting is the process through which the upper is stretched on
the last, which gives the shoe its final shape. Thus the upper part of the shoe is complete in its essential
components, although more operations (application of welts,
soles, insoles, as well as further stitchings, millings and
dyeings) are still needed to achieve the final Moreschi product.
Moreschi Finishing
The higher the quality degree, the higher the number of operations
and controls. All finishing operations at Moreschi are carried
out in a special department; cleaning, polishing, brushing,
branding of soles, application of the sock-lining with the
characteristic black and white label precede the strict Moreschi
quality control at the very end.
